If I try to start the game anyway without fixing the "Update Paused" thing, it goes "An error ocurred while updating EYE: Divine Cybermancy (Disk read error).
I tried uninstalling the game and installing it again, no dice. 0%", then jumps to "Updating 100%", and then back to Update Paused. I go for a break while the game downloads, and when I come back it says "Update Paused" on EYE.
I then try to verify the integriblaha bla cache, and naturally I'm missing something. I'm left in shock, but quickly recover from this defeat and go to my AVG UI, press Tools > Advanced Settings > Anti-Virus > Resident Shield > Exceptions and set the whole Steam folder as an exception. Then along comes my anti-virus, AVG Free, clearly recognizing EYE.exe as the worst threat to my computer ever and erases it.
Started it, pressed the single player campaign something button and went to the loading screen. The stories goes that I went to test the game. So, I guess this might not be an EYE-specific error, but any way.
